I have a resistor (part number AP3779926) to replace on a washer dryer combo unit. One end is labeled 45 amp and the other end is labeled 26 amp. How do I know which end corresponds to which terminal?
Answer Hello Jason,
A resistor is not a polorized component. It will provide the same resistance regardless of the direction of current flow. It can be connected either way and the circuit will not know the difference.
Wires touched on the timer switch. Now the resistor wire is black? Should I replace the resistor wire or the whole timer switch?
Answer Hello Chrystal. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the resistor 134446800 should be all you will need to replace. However, if there is any burnt places on the timer 131719100, you will need to replace it as well. Hope this helps.
What would cause this part Power Resistor to burn out?
Answer Hello Dan. A short or a power surge can cause the power resistor to burn out. You will need to check and make sure none of the wires are shorted to ground. Hope this helps.
