What is this small screw used for? I am trying to repair the door hinge to keep the door from falling off of the microwave.

From the looks on the parts explosion, this screw is used to mount a brace from rear to front on the body of the unit. If the hinges are bent too far apart from one another you can use a small pair of needle nosed vice grip pliers to bend them closer. You do need to have the unit checked with a survey meter afterwards to insure no microwaves can escape the cooking compartment and cause harm to you and yours. If the hinges are close enough, you may have a defective door part that either isn't assembled correctly or something in the door could be broken.
