Hello, My Kenmore gas range the top burner is not get fire right way and I tried to remove the screw and its broken and left in there so is there any way I can take out the broken one? What kind of penetrating oil helps me to loosen the other screws? Is there only electrode to change or must be all the ignitors? Thank you
Answer Hello Zeleke,
If the screw is twisted off in the burner base, since the burner base is made of such soft metal, there is a good chance that you will have to replace the assembly. You can try to drill a hole through the center of the screw and use an "easy out" to remove the remaining part of the screw but since the screw is going to be harder than the case aliminum it is threaded into, this will be a genuine task. An easy out is a drill bit with a backward thread used to remove twisted out screws. To remove the remaining screws, try heating the unit up before attempting the removal. Also, before reassembly, apply a bit of any sort of grease to the threads of the screws to prevent them from seizing.
