Where is the sensor #AP4032998 located. My refrigerator is not cooling. Suspect it might be the compressor or can it be the inverter? please help
The thermistor would be located close to the back wall of the freezer compartment or on the ceiling. With the unit not cooling at all the thermistor would most likely not be the problem. The issue would most likely be the inverter that is causing the no cooling issue. Check to make sure that there is 120 vac coming to the inverter. If there is 120 vac then the inverter is most likely the problem.
I am looking for a defrost thermostat.
Answer Amy, the defrost thermostat is part number 242046001. Thanks!
The refrigerator IceMaker had some sort of sensor above the auger. The sensor fell into the ice maker and wrapped around the auger and pulled it off. Now the refrigerator will not work. I have a code of SY on the left and CF on the right of the display where the temperature settings normally are. What exactly is it and what is the replacement part number?
Answer Hello Kim,
The sensor that fell off had to be the flex tray icemaker sensor that tells the icemaker to cycle. This would shut down the icemaker but would not affect the unit operation. The SY CF fault code is signifying a communication lost error. This is most likely going to be the main control board 242115241. The sensor that was pulled off in the fresh food icemaker is not serviceable without replacing the complete icemaker assembly 243297603.
