My alarm light is on and it's not getting cold. I do hear the fan. What could it be?
Answer Hello Bryan,
This could be a defrost issue, an air circulation issue, or a sealed system issue. I know from the part you were looking at that the unit is a Frigidaire, but a model number is needed to diagnose further. This will be found on the units' I.D. tag on or near the ceiling of the fresh food compartment and will tell us the configuration you are having issues with.
I need to know how to check this sensor to see if it has gone bad. The sensor # is 5308037992.
Answer Hello Jim,
You will want to check resistance of the thermistor. The thermistor resistance should be 10K at 77 degrees and 32.6 at 32 degrees. If resistance is not within range then thermistor would need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
