Electrolux ice maker stopped crushing ice , how do I know if it's the spiral auger motor, or the solenoid?
Answer Sergio, The auger motor 241676201 turns the auger shaft and moves the cubes forward and out the front of the dispenser. If the refrigerator dispenses cubed ice, the auger motor is not the issue. The solenoid 241675704 is activated when the "crushed" ice is selected.
The solenoid retracts up and raises the shifter arm on the side of the bin. when the shifter raises it reduces the opening in the front of the bin housing, the cubes remain in the housing and get chopped up by the blades inside. You need to check the shifter arm 241716002 and the solenoid.
