My ice chute door appears to be hanging up. We have cleaned it, but it still does not close most often after getting ice. Is it simply in need of a new spring? Thanks.
Answer Hello Joe. Disassemble the dispenser and check for broken parts on the flap and the spring and see what you need to repair the unit. It could be the solenoid 241689301 causing all the issues with the unit.
How does this spring get installed? is it with the arms back and the hump forward or some other way?
Answer Chris, It's "another way". One of the "arms" should be against the ice door, causing tension on the door towards the dispenser body. The other arm should be against the switch housing wall. the "hump" is irrelevant. We'll send you some basic dispenser service information, so you'll have a better idea of the explanation. Thanks
