I'm ordering a 3-in-1 relay kit and I need to know what horsepower my refrigerators' condenser is.

Went to the back and while unplugged shook the starter. This piece is marked with part number 216008901. It rattled and out came broken pieces of a silver metallic disc. The fridge and freezer does not cool. Makes a clicking sound as if trying to start the compressor. Will this starter kit work to replace the part? Do I have to replace the entire section? Or only the part numbered that rattled. Thanks for the help.

We bought starter kit 5304491941 after hearing people saying their ref was doing the same as ours. The kit comes with 2 white wires instead of a blue and red. And has no markings or numbers for us to know which way to hook up. Help please

Latest Questions

I ordered this starter kit a month ago but did not install it until today because the freezer/fridge started working again, but yesterday the symptoms were back (buzzing for about 30 seconds, compressor not kicking on, things in the freezer starting to melt). I followed the instructions (the old starter had the wires on the bottom and the capacitor on top and the new starter has the capacitor on the bottom, the wires go on the top). The wires provided in the kit were white and I could not tell on the new part which was for the line (red) and which was for the neutral (blue) so I attached them as they displayed in the picture that was included with the instructions, with the red wire from the refrigerator being attached to the connector in the tab that was"on top" (closest to the edge) of the starter and the and the blue wire attached to the connector in the tab that was closer to the middle of the starter. I attached the kit to the compressor and plugged the refrigerator back in to see if it worked... there was a buzzing noise (like before) and after about 10 seconds, a "poof" sound and burning smell... and the starter (not the capacitor) was very warm. The compressor did not kick on. Is it possible that I attached the wires incorrectly or could there be some other problem? Have I fried the whole thing?

I ordered your Frigidaire Starter Kit and wired it up to the compressor. I believe I did it right with Neutral blue wire connected to bottom wire of harness and Red live feed wore to top wire of relay harness. The old set up was a supco 3 -1 starter that stopped working. I am just getting a hard click every so often (relay engaging). I check the compressor terminals for OHMs readings and they seem to match up with what I have read is what you want to see. I have lights in the fridge and condenser fan is running with air going into freezer and fridge portion. I am wondering what else I can check to confirm it is a bad compressor and not something else like the defrost timer. I seem to understand that if the defrost timer is stuck that the condenser fan would not be on. Help!!

I replaced the starter about three months ago because it was buzzing every so many seconds and would not cool. It has been working fine for three months and now it is doing the same thing again. Should I try another starter or is there something else wrong.
