This part start it smoking&flaming up we disconeted the fridge, is this part easy to fix?and how.....
Answer Vic, The overload/start relay is an easy repair and replacement in most cases, remove the lower compartment cover on the back of the refrigerator, and unplug the ower cord. Press on and release the retainer spring holding the relay cover on the side of the compressor, grasp and pull stright out on the relay overload and capacitor assembly. Check the 3 pins on the compressor to insure no damage occurred to the compressor. Check and switch one wire at a time from the original part to the new part. and reverse the removal procedure and check for opration. Thanks.
When it cycles, it makes a buzzing sound from the starter/overload-capacitor area. Other than the sound, it runs fine. Thanks. Peter
