I ordered a new switch per switch diagram and checked its compatibility 5054073-048 / 318191027 has 6 contact points on backside. The original is 5055073-048 / 318191023 has 8 contact points. All contact points are connected on old switch. The contact points missing on new switch are labeled S1 & S2... Please advise where I would connect those two wires too on NEW switch? Better yet getting the correct switch would be preferred. Thank you for your consideration. Marc Spitz

The problem first appeared in this switch. The control panel would not come on without this switch being on and then would not operate properly. Inspecting the switch showed contacts obviously bad on the side of the switch. The switch was replaced and the same panel problem was still there. The panel was then replaced and works fine now but still only when the switch is on. Power is removed from the unit until problem is identified to protect the new panel and switch. I'm guessing burner or wiring but don't want to tear into that without some more knowledgeable advise. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Ordered and received a replacement burner control switch for Friqidaire range. (part #3970651) The new part is configured differently than the original and I cannot tell where to connect the wires from the original switch to the new one.

I changed the glass top on my range for the second time, first time no problem, second time sparks flew when I reset the breaker. I checked everything and reset the breaker and all was fine, except the right front burner stays on, on the low setting, and won't shut off. Do I need a new switch ? I never disconnected the element, or the switch
