I had the stove top and oven on. I heard a loud pop. Nothing was working on the stove or oven. Everything went off even the control panel. I checked the circuit breaker and it was popped so I reset. I also unplugged the stove and plugged back in and nothing at all works. What could it be? The terminal block?
With the unit not getting any power at all, the first thing that you will want to check is to make sure that there is power at the outlet. Even though the breaker may be turned on, there could be something with the outlet or the wiring causing this issue. You will want to ensure that there is 240 vac. If this checks ok then test the terminal block to make sure that there is 240 vac at the terminal block and 120 vac from each leg to neutral. If there is proper power then the terminal block or wiring would most likely be the issue.
Can my stove be repaired if my terminal block is melted. How could that happen?
Answer Hello Sheila. Yes, this is a common thing to happen. Usually the wires were not tight enough and it causes this issue. Just order and replace the terminal block and power cord on the unit and repair any damaged wires.
