The dryer cabinet seems to get hotter than normal on high heat. This section is close to where the heater is. Is there a thermostat sensor that controls the heat? Or is it that I haven't noticed it before? I recently replaced the coils on the gas valve that failed. Without the coils it would not heat up. Thank you for your site. If it is a difficult part to find you usally have it!! Attilio M.
Answer Hello Attilio,
This complaint is usually caused by one of two things. A sealed laundry room where the unit cannot pull in fresh air sufficiently, or a restricted exhaust duct. Flexible ducting is one thing that causes the second. If these have been checked, there are two thermostats that can be checked. The cycling or control thermostat 134048900 and the high limit thermostat 5308015399. The second one is also sometimes called the safety thermostat by the manufacturer.
