I replaced burnt and cracked v belt. Tub still wont spin unless I start it spinning by hand. What are the steps required to replace the transmission assembly? The motor spins but doesnt spin the belt.

Answer Hi. Look under the tub center to see if there is any leaking going on. Tub seal part # 5303279394. See if the seal has opened and is leaking on the bearing part # 3204405. Examine the lower spin bearing mounted with the transmission assy. part # 134737100. I have seen the lower one seize completely. With the belt removed then does the main pulley turn in both directions without failure? Lift the top and un clasp the outer tub top ring. Use a flashlight to see if there are any balled up clothes in between the inner and the outer tub assy. Remove the inner basket to see if the trunnion plate part # 137107000 and the bolt part # 137539500 has broken off the trunnion assy. part # 131545101. Thank You.
Hello, My washer agitator seems to be working fine, however the tub turns as it washes causing the water to just go in circles. The tub and agitator rotate at about the same speed. There isn't any noise or any unusual sounds, just the tub problem. Can you help out? Jim.

Answer Hello Jim,
This is the brake not holding properly. Unfortunately, on a Frigidaire, the brake is made on the bottom of the transmission 134737100. If you look at the picture of it, the brake is internal but, the large square thing at the bottom of the transmission should only turn one direction. If the tub turns back and forth with the agitator, the brake has failed and the complete transmission will have to be changed along with the outer tub seal 5303279394 and spin bearing 3204405 assemblies.
