How do I disconnect the water line from the water valve?
Walter B. for Model Number 253.7419240G
Answer Hello Walter,
Remove the water line by pushing the line and the ring around it toward the water valve. While holding pressure on the ring, pull the water line out. Now look at the end of the water line. About 1/4 of an inch from the end, there is normally a groove put in the water line from it's installation in the previous water valve. Slice this 1/4 inch off squarely with a razor knife. Reinsert the water line into the water valve and push hard until you feel the line "pop" in about another 1/4 of an inch. Once it pops in the last amount, to seat the seal, pull on the line without touching the ring.

I Just placed an order for part #241803701 AP4298760 INLET VALVE. Can I have instructions on how to install this valve?
Nanette for Model Number Frigidare GLHT184RAQ2
Answer Hello Nanette. Pull the unit out and turn off the water going to the unit. Next remove the supply line going to the unit. Once removed, you will remove the screws securing the valve and press in on the plastic fitting and release the water line going to the valve. Once the water line is released, you press it into the new valve 242252603 and install the new water valve.

Thank you for your help with the water valve, it is getting water now, but it doesn't seem to be making ice very fast, about once an hour, is this normal ?
Glenda M. for Model Number 241803701
Answer Hi Glenda. Make sure the water supply behind the unit is not kinked as when you pushed it back in. Then see if the water line fill tube going up the back into the ice maker is not frozen with ice. You may need to gently twist it to the side and pull it out. Clear it under the sink and dry it with a hair dryer. Make sure it is placed back in the pocket in the center of the fill pocket of the ice maker. Not at the beginning of the pocket and at the end so the water falls directly in the center upon replacement. Make sure the fill tube is secure in the back of the cabinet fully so no moisture collects there and freezes the inner fill tube. Make sure the freezer temperature is no colder then 0-2°. Thank You.
