My dishwasher model fdbb4365fco is displaying an error of UF. After researching the internet I think that it could possible be caused by a clog. Can you please tell me where the vent is located and how to clear the clog? Also is there anything else that may be causing this error? Thank you.
The UF error indicates that the fan is not running. While in drying cycle the main control board is not sensing the vent fan motor rotation a the correct speed. Check the wiring between vent assembly and main control board. If the wiring checks ok replace the vent assembly and if the error still occurs then replace main control board. The vent 5304467317 is on the outside of the tub assembly.
how do you remove the wire harness from the machine. I dont know what needs to be squeezed in to remove connection
Answer James, The "flat" 5 pin connector attaches to the vent assembly. In most cases, this style connector has a "locking tab" that keeps it attached to the control. You press down, or in on the tab closest to the wiring and pull out on the harness and connector. The other end of the harness has a "molex" or "multiplug" connector. These connectors are "keyed" and will only fit and seat in one way. These connectors often have a "locking tabs" mounted on the sides of the connector, and you have to press in on the tabs closest to the wire harness, and pull out on the plastic connector. Another "trick" is to press the connectors together, then press on the "locking tab" release, and separate the connectors. Thanks
If I replace the vent assembly on the unit and this does not fix the Er-uo code, can I return the part?
Answer Hello Tim,
The fault code indicates an open vent but in my experience, there could be a dis-connected wire, a detergent build-up, or the spring is corroded in to. We will replace any part ordered from us for one year from the date of order for any reason, so I'm confident that you will be satisfied with our service.
