How can I remove the agitator when it seems that the bolt has broken off?

Answer Hello Marlene. The agitator on the GE wasers pull off the coupling. You may need to run a rope under it and jerk upward.
Agitator is not working. Is this the only plastic in the unit?

Answer Hello Mike. Depending on the model number, there could be plastic under the agitator WH43X102. The drive bell could be plastic and is known to strip out on these.
