Washer rocks excessively during spin cycle. I leveled the machine and replaced the suspension pads to no avail. The springs are all intact. Should I replace the springs anyway and how can I diagnose if the balance ring needs to be replaced?
Answer Hello Danny,
If you replaced all 6 of the pads it would not hurt to replace the springs. The most important spring is the counterbalance spring W10250667 on the back side of the tub. Any rust on the spring shows the need to replace it. This will weaken the spring and cause the spin basket to settle toward the front when it stops. The balance ring 387240 should be filled with a liquid, (saline solution), so if you hear no liquid inside it, it will need to be replaced. Also, if it does not mount securely to the spin basket, this will cause an issue.
