My GE Model GFSS6KKXASS is having Refer defrost issues (basicly not doing it!) It was completly iced over and because of a frozen drain tube running water under the crisper drawers. After a time consuming defrost (by hand) I made my way to the parts in question. I suspect the bi-metal over temp stat but took some resistance readings all all three parts while I was in there (heater strip, thermister & bi-metal). The refrigerator error code the control panel shows on initial start up is (R1c = Refer Defrost sensor part error). My questions are: 1) Does this code direct me to the bi-meatl as opposed to the thermister? 2) based on these readings i got is a diferent part more likely ? (heater strip - 105 ohms , did NOT tone continuity?) (thermister - 2.6 Mohms in ice water) (bi metal - .2 ohms IN or OUT of ice water) thanks for the help- Ernie
