On my top-loading, GE, WCSR2080B2WW, the tub does not spin on the spin cycle. It seems to agitate fine. When I inspect the drive system as the washer is going, the retainer clip spins, and I can see that the rod that goes through the clutch is spinning, but the belt and clutch body themselves do not spin. I've replaced the V-belt, but the didn't fix the issue. With the unit unplugged, I can spin the clutch by turning the retainer clip by hand. Am I looking at replacing the clutch, or might it be something else? Thanks!

PULSING: When going into a spin cycle, the machine starts "pulsing." Lights dim with each pulse and there's a noise associated with it. While this is happening, however, the tub is spinning normally and after a minute, the noise and pulsing usually stop and the spin cycle completes. So I am able to do a load of wash successfully. SPEEDS: Additionally, this machine has Normal/Gentle wash and Fast/Slow spin cycles. The wash cycle works fine (until the spin part begins) BUT there is no difference in speeds between the Normal and Gentle settings (there used to be). And once the pulsing stops on the spin cycle and the spin is going fine, if I switch to the Slow spin speed, the pulsing begins again. If i switch right back to Normal speed, the spin instantly resumes with no pulsing and the cycle finishes. Clothing at the end of the wash is not sopping wet, so it seems as if the spin cycle is working, once is gets going. PARTS ORDERED: A previous agent I chatted with on Live Chat thought the control assembly board might be the problem. I ordered one and installed it. That was not the problem (and thanks to your generous return policy, I am in the process of returning it). Another Live Chat agent suggested it might be the clutch. So I have placed an order for a new clutch and belt, just in case. But she said it also may be the motor, so that's my question. My decision is whether to keep the clutch order in (it will be shipped tomorrow, Tuesday 5/27) or whether it's definitely the motor. If it's the motor, I will probably cancel my order and buy a new washer, given the cost of the motor part and the age of my current unit. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

How do you remove the drive belt from the 2 pulleys it runs on? I ask this because I need to replace the clutch, but I can't get to that until the belt is off.
