Dyer burner comes on when first started but will not come back on to add more heat.
is it the coils or something else? how to I check?
Answer Lynn, Being a gas dryer, and based on your description, it's most likely the gas valve coils 5303931775. The best way to check a coil is to allow the dryer to run and heat for 15 to 20 minutes, remove power to the dryer and remove the wiring harness to the coils. The two terminal coil should have a reading of 1000 to 1500 ohms resistance, the three terminal coild should have 1300 to 1400 ohms across pin 1 and pin 2 and 500 to 600ohms resistance from pin 1 to pin 3, using a multi meter. You'll need to be careful, things in that area will be hot, and some edges may be sharp.
Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
If the dryer timer lights up, and buzzing noise is heard, but nothing else happens, do I need a new control panel?
Answer Hi Kathy. Either something is stuck in the blower wheel part # WE16M17 or if not, then the motor centrifugal switch is bad. It is internal with the motor part # WE17M37. Thank You.
