I replaced the above part with all connections plugged in, but the new unit is still "dead". There is no response to any manipulation of the different control areas (e.g. light or ice dispenser). Is there a reset mechanism when replacing the unit?? Thanks for any help!
Answer Hello Michael. I would check the connections to the terminal block (where the "pigtail" connects to the unit). Unplug the unit and remove the cover and just make sure the terminals are not loose. You can do this by grabbing the wire and see if it will turn under the nut. I recommend to do it this way because people tend to over tighten the wires and break the terminal block. (Be sure to unplug the unit before touching any wires!). Also you might want to check the breaker as there are 2 breakers combined on a 240Vac appliance.Turn it off and back on to check it. I hope this was helpful and have a great day!
