My microwave does not work properly now..The other night the surface light button would not work. So i unplugged it and waited a few minutes the plug it back..Now it's telling to program the clock but it does not allow me..some of the buttons work, but some don't. Which part do i need, the control arm or smart board.
Based on the information it sounds as though the keypad is what the issue is with the unit. You will want to access the control board by removing the vent grill at the top of the unit then removing one screw that holds the control panel in place. Check the ribbon harness for corrosion and it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. If this checks ok and the problem persist then you will want to replace the control panel assembly WB07X11044.
I need to replace the keypad assembly on this model. Two of the buttons do not work. Keypad is WB07X11044. Do I just need to remove the screw on the bottom of the keypad, or do I have to remove the whole microwave and disassemble it? Are there instructions for removing the keypad?
Answer Hello Len. You will need to disconnect the power and remove the grill off the unit. Then remove the screw at the top of the control panel and lift the panel off the unit. Once it is removed, you will unplug the ribbon cable to the board and wires going to the old board. Remove the board and install it onto the new control panel. Install the wires and the ribbon cable onto the board.
