I received your GE AP4358793 - CONTROL BOARD for my General Electric WSSH300G0WW Washer, thank you.
I was replacing it because my washer fails to run the spin cycle. It will pump out the water, but it will not spin the drum.
Per the washer tech data sheet, the washer was displaying fault code E44, which is a control baord fault. I replaced the control board with your replacement, and the dryer displayed fault E21 "Water not pumping out fast enough". This prompted me to check pump and drain system for obstructions. I found coins in the coin trapp, which I cleared, then reassembled. Washer still would not spin. Washer now displays fault code E42 which means "Door remains locked after cycle is completed, refer to test 8" Test 8 states: "Remove power from the washer, wait one minute, Can you open door." My door does open. The correction states: "Yes, replace the control board".
As you know, this control board is brand new, I do not wish to replace it again. I have doubts that the computer is diagnosing the correct faults. Door locking seems to have little to do with the spin cycle. I need suggestions, Please help. Thanks, Rick
Answer Hi Rick. Do not be discouraged. It is sometimes common that other issues are unmasked as one elect. device is changed. The door lock assy.# WH10X10003 is wired so if the lid is not "locked" it will not allow spin out as a safety issue. Thank You.
How difficult is the control board to replace? Are there any instruction included?
Answer Hi Chris. It is better to remove the power. Remove the top. Remove the dispenser drawer and the screws that are inside the face of it. Then remove the front 2 knobs. Then use a screwdriver to unclasp the inside of the front console loose from the metal support bracket. Make sure that you carefully protect the face of the panel. Then you unbolt the original control board from the back of the console panel. Tricky, Keep the face of the panel on its face so you do not loose the spring springs from the push buttons. There are light tubes that are specifically placed also. It can be done and in most cases, it sound worse than it actually is. This control board is part # WH42X10787. Thank You.
