Our Spectra Gas range is working fine except for the oven. It is 50 degrees to low. You set it at 350 it comes up to 300. 400 is 350. You get the idea. I have replaced the temp probe inside the oven and it is still 50 off. What next?

I have an oven that occasionally ignites when it is the dial is turned to the desired temperature. Sometimes the igniter glows but the oven will not actually ignite until I turn on a range burner. What should I be replacing? Sometimes when the oven comes up to temperature and the flames go out it will not re-ignite when the oven cools and it needs to maintain temperature.

Answer Hello Scott. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. The oven will not come up to temp. If you set it at 450 20 minutes later its still at 200.

Answer Hello pea picker. Check and make sure there is 240 volts coming to the oven. If so, you will need to test the elements and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. If they are good, replace the electronic control in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I have a Ge xl 44 gas range my control went out I ordered a new one part# wb27k10143 my dilemma is this they clearly marked it for the bake and broil but did not tag the other two terminals which are for the L1 and neutral I do not want to hook them up wrong and fry my new board as it took 3 months to save for this one so if you could tell which goes where I would be in your debt Thank you
