G.E dual wall oven. The bottom unit is fine but the top turns on and cuts off in 20 seconds. I've replaced the bake element. The oven sensor is showing 1086O on the multimeter. What would be next thing that I should look at? Thanks.
Answer Hello John,
While the model number you provided is for a refrigerator, I would guess that your wall oven has a bad relay on the control board. If you would like an in depth diagnosis on your unit, please re-post with the model number of the wall oven so we can pull the wiring diagram.
I am changing the control panel. Very straight forward except for disconnecting the ribbon cable. How is the ribbon cable disconnected from its attach point which is a black plastic connector. Thank you.
Answer Hello Chris,
The connector is a lock pin connector and will have clips on either side or you may have to get fingernail under edge to lift up. Once lifted you will pull the ribbon cable and attach new and push down on connector.
