Freezer is fine, temp on food side about 50 degrees. Could problem be temp control part # wr09x10016. Also, is this located behind slider for cold setting inside refridgerator.
The first thing that you will want to check is to make sure that the unit does not have frost on the rear wall of the freezer compartment. if so then pull the rear cover off and check for continuity on the defrost heater and defrost limiter. If the heater or the defrost limiter do not have continuity then replace the one that does not have continuity. If they both check ok replace the defrost timer. If the defrost checks ok then the temp control would most likely be the issue. It is located behind the light shield where the slide is located in the refrigerator compartment. The defrost timer is also in this area.
refrigerator not holding consist cold, could this be my temp control
Answer Mike, Before you replace the cold control WR09X10016 check and make sure the doors are closing and sealing properly. Remove the front kick plate and the rear cover panel and clean all the dust and debris, from the condenser coil and interior components(unplug the power cord first). Then check the evaporator fan motor [WR60X10008] (listen to it) make sure it is running at a high speed and circulating the air (you should be able to feel or see the frost being blown towards you when you open the freezer door. If all's OK, then replace the cold control WR09X10016.
