I am trying to replace the temp control valve, I have taken the screws out that hold it in place but I can't get the cover off - how do you get it off and what else do you need to remove.

The freezer is not working since I moved the frig to a new location. The refrigerator side still works fine. I pulled the knobs and cover off the temperature controls in the refrigerator section and I could hear the fan and compressor start to run in the freezer compartment. When I came back several hours later the freezer had stopped working again. I have not been able to make the freezer start running again by moving the cover or levers around again. What could this be? Thanks

My freezer seems to be working, but my fridge is warm. I don't feel any cold air coming in from the freezer/upper duct. I've actually removed the upper damper and checked the return for blockages. The compressor runs and the fan in the freezer is running. I opened the back panel of the freezer, and the level of frost seems normal and it seems to be going thru a normal defrost cycle. Could it be a problem with the temperature control? What does this part actually control? FYI, twice in the past six months the freezer has defrosted to the point where I had water pooling on the floor and things melting, but this isn't happening anymore. The first time cleaning out underneath (compressor area) with a vacuum seemed to fix and the second time it started working again after I bumped it against a wall. Guess I'm the Fonz. Thanks is advance for any help, Mike
