Hi Thanks for that...but when I install the gear (which attaches to the damper control, what position do I put it (it has a line on it, and a spur which only allows part rotation, and I don't know where the spur goes when the baffle is closed.... g

Answer Hello Gram If you remove both parts from the unit, you will see there the large gear tooth will fit into the gear strip and allow full rotation of the knob. There is a cut out where the two align up for proper function.

The temperature control in the refrigerator section operates by two gears, one (operated by the "fridge" lever) on the damper and one (operated by the "freezer" lever) on the control module. The gear wheel on the baffle has slipped from original position - how do I reset it to the correct gear position for the 1-5 range of (fridge) control lever settings? There is a line on each gear wheel and a "spur" on the one operating the baffle...

Answer Hello Graham. Close the baffle and then turn the knob to the lowest setting. Install the gear and then when you turn the unit up, the baffle should open on the unit.

Do I need the flange "Gkt fm block" (Item Number: AP2063393) in order to fit the new damper assembly? Is there any guide on how to remove the old damper ? Because it won't move no matter how hard I pull.Thanks in advance Panos

Answer Hello Panos, To remove the air damper, remove both gear racks, the damper gear, and the two mounting screws. Using a putty knife, carefully pry the foam nozzle and gasket from the air damper. Press the wiring harness and temperature control capillary from the slot in the air damper housing. A gasket will be supplied with the replacement air damper control and foam nozzle. If the foam nozzle WR2X8831 is damaged, it will require replacement.
