Answer Hello David. If the freezer is at the correct temp and the unit is running, the damper should open about half way. If not, you may need to replace the damper in the unit.

Fresh food freezes. Refrigerator temperature control has continuity in the cold position. Damper control door does not close completely; i.e., it closes about 7/8th of the way. Air flow from the damper window is contunuous. Is the fan part of the damper control and is it suppose to stop the fan when the refrigerator-set temperature is reached? Damper part number is WR09X10002.

Answer Hello Robert, The fan is not a part of the damper assembly and only turns off when the thermostat is satisfied. If the damper WR09X10002 isn't closing, it could be blocked with frost from an air leak or it may simply be defective. It is not designed to ever close all the way. It sounds more like the temperature control WR9X521 has failed.

I have pulled everything out and found the location but not sure about how to get this part out. Also this part did not come with the gray foam piece that just sticks to the camper control. Answer Hello Kathi. There should be enough glue on the old foam to hold it for the install. If not, you can hold it in place and install the damper control WR09X10002 and the foam will stay in place on the unit. If not, you will need to order the foam.

The fridge section is not getting cold air from the top but the freezer is working. I tested by lowering the temp control of the fridge section and even by putting a heated spoon near the control unit and still cold air does not come into the fridge section. Could this unit be defective?
