Answer Hello Rich. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Answer Hi Mark. The defrost thermostat has to ohm closed (o-ohms) at 0°. It may check OK, but then fail to perform under the normal operations mode because of internal contact arcing issues. It also as importantly has to open to protect the cabinet from melting and also from freezer food burn. Defrost part # WR50X55. The defrost timer will control the 6-1/2 hrs of compressor run time and then the 20-25-minutes of defrost occurs. Part # WR9X482. No, the evaporator coils cover directs the coil air with the evaporator fan properly in a side and front circulating manner for proper performance. Thank You.

Answer Hello Tom. If the unit needs to be set on the coldest setting to do this, it sounds like the problem is in the temperature control 5304404821. Hope this helps.

Answer Joe, What gives you the impression the problem is a defrost failure ? do you see ice or frost on the freezer back wall, when the refrigerator temperatures get warm ? That's a better indication of a defrost issue. It could be an issue with the evaporator fan WR60X190, it could be the fan motor is stalling or running slow,not circulating the air. It could be that you have a clogged, dirty condenser and the fridge system is not transferring the heat properly, and there are more possibilities. Thanks and Good Luck.
