Answer Hello Joe. Most likely, the heater is bad on the unit. But if it is good, then the timer is all that is left. It is located inside the fresh food control panel section.

Answer Hello Helen. Based on the model number you provided, WR9X502 is the correct timer. 6 hr or 12 hr will not affect the function of the unit. It will just defrost more often resulting in better cooling in the unit.

Answer Hi. Remove the fresh food top shelf. Remove the controls front cover. Look for 2 mount screw heads which has a dime sized hole in the middle. It will have a slot to stick a screwdriver and advance the timer part # WR9X502. into the 2nd heavy click. This advances the defrost timer into a compressor run time. If the timer detents are sticky or hard to turn then replace the timer (Aged). The timer has 2 heavy detents that are close together only separated by a few smaller clicks. The first heave click is the start of the defrost 25 minutes period. The 2nd stops the defrost and turns the compressor and fans into run time over and over... Thank You.

Answer Hello Len. It sounds like you may have a sealed system issue. You will need some freon gauges and test the pressures of the sealed system to see if it is running properly. If not, you will need to service the sealed system in the unit.

Answer Hi Chuck. Yes look at the top of the freezer and above the cover is a evaporator that has the defrost heater part # WR51X322 and the defrost thermostat part # WR50X45. Then defrost timer part # WR9X502 sends the voltage to the thermostat and then if it is closed , it sends it to the heater to defrost the evaporator. Over and Over for approx. 25 minutes until the until the thermostat purposely opens at approx 45° to protect the cavity. So if there is frost on the top cover, now the air flow is blocked and you are into a no coo. until you either diagnose with a Volt/ohm meter and replace the correct parts needed or turn off the unit and leave the doors open all day wit a fan blowing into the freezer evaporator area . this will thaw out and you need to keep an eye on the units drain pan to make sure it dos not over flow. Answer Hello Ramon. Try running the unit in an outlet that is not a GFI outlet. If the unit runs fine, then the outlet is bad. If not, then you will need to look for a short on the unit. Check for a loose or broken wire in the unit. Also, look for a bad connection, or gounded wire. Turn the timer WR9X502 and see if the unit runs properly. If so, you may have a short in the defrost cycle. Hope this helps.
