I cant find the defrost timer! About once a year I have to defrost my fridge because the bottom (the food area) wont get cold. After I defrost and get rid of the ice then it stays nice and cold for about a year! Thanks.

Latest Questions

I have just installed a # WR9X502 defrost timer in my Monogram BIS42CKC side-by-side refrigerator/freezer which is freezing properly but was not cooling properly in the fresh-food section. I notice that the part has a provision for advancing (?) the timer manually from the exterior with a bladed screwdriver in a small clockwise-only "drum". Does the part need adjusting after installation If so, how many "clicks" ?

Not cooling. Top freezer will get to about forty degrees, not enough to freeze anything. Refrigerator compartment will get about fifty degrees. That is with everthing turned to coldest setting. Thermostat checks good. I hooked a volt meter to the wires going to the heater. Manually put it in defrost, got about 39 to 40 volts. Should there be 110 volt there? I hooked a cord to the heater and plugged it in to an outlet and in about three m inutes or so the heater glowed red. Any info will be welcomed.
