Water/Ice dispenser panel shuts off and doesn't work at all when the dispenser bulb is installed. If you remove the dispenser bulb, everything works fine except there's no light. Install the bulb and everything on the panel stops working, no light, no water, no ice. Appreciate any help you can provide.

Problem with the ice dispenser: When dispenser activated, the panel lights dimmed and the compressor stopped. Compressor would then stay off until fridge was turned off and back on using either the temp control switches or un-plugging/plugging-in the power cord. Pulled dispenser panel and disconnected ice-door solenoid. Now dispenses ice and water w/o compressor turning off (except ice door stays shut), but compressor still not re-starting by itself after defrost cycle. Disconnected 5-wire connector to door panel control board at door hinge (under hinge cover). Compressor re-starts normally now and refrigerator works fine (just no ice/water through door dispenser). Is the problem most likely a bad front panel control board or could these symptoms be caused by a bad main board?

Was given a fridge that we were told has a fussy ice maker. Sometimes it works sometime it doesnt...whatever that means. Called out a repairman, waiting for repairman noticed on/off switch inside freezer was off. Switched it on..hours later when repairman arived there were 2-3 cubes..repairman said it was main control board...ok, made repair..water/dispencer still not on and buttons not responding..he said probably dispencer control board...didnt have one in stock..long story short..guy was no call no show to appointment and wanted 200 for the part plus 75 for labor..noticed I can get it elswhere for 100. My question is this a reasonable assumned and worth the 100 to buy it an attempt repair on our own? My husband designed and built a solar system for our houseboat with the help of tech supports, articles and videos. Not that the two are even remotely related but its a referrence point to say he's a pretty smart guy and isnt afraid to try things but also knows his limits and when to call a professional. Thoughts?

Touch Panel started working erratically. I removed the dispenser panel to find the Gray wire on J2 wasn't seated completely in the Molex connector. What does the gray wire do? I fastened the wire but I still have nothing on the touch panel. I looked at your other posts and I checked voltages on J4. With the dispenser board removed I have 12V between pins 1&2 on J4 but no voltage between pins 1&3 like you mentioned. Now, When I plug the connectors back into the dispenser board I get about 4 or 5 volts between pins 1&2 on J4. Seems like something is dragging down the voltage on the dispenser board.

The water dispenser keeps running full blast even after the switch is released. Have to open freezer door to stop. I had to shut-off the water to stop dispensing! The light on the dispenser is permantly ON although the switch is set to "OFF". Could it be the dispenser control board or the inlet water valve? Can I purchase a repair manual for this unit? Hard to understand how to replace the dispenser control board if I have too.
