Display is back and there is power at the main board. Which part do I need?
Answer Hello Saul. Check all connections. If good, test for power to the display board. If there is power there, replace the display board WH12X10246. No power there, replace the main board WH12X10245 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
I just purchased this part and received it today. I installed it in the washer. The outer buttons like the power and home buttons respond however the screen display buttons don't respond.
Answer Hello Rick,
It's time to use this units' self diagnostic feature. If I had an e-mail address for you, I have some literature that will be invaluable to you in this repair. It's really too extensive to type it all out, plus I can't type the pictures.
To enter the service mode:
From the home screen, press the help pad. Next, press the My Cycles and Back pads simultaneously for 3 seconds. If the buttons don't respond, the control panel containing the buttons may have failed.
What is really happening is that the display board does not shut off at all, it lights up but do not respond to any commands. So since it does not shut down I can not do the test as you suggested. The fact that it is lighting up tells me that it is still getting power.
Answer Orren, based on your post description, you most likely have a faulty Membrane keypanel WE19X10072 or WH46X10098 or a possible issue in the inverter/main control board WH12X10245 You'll need a multi meter to make circuit and voltage checks at the membrane assembly and control board, to trace and properly diagnose the issue TJMA-DMT3 and repair the washer. We're sending you some more technical information that should be helpful. Thanks and Good Luck
