What is the purpose of Part Number: AP2040377, I don't see it on my model. I have water leaking with every cycle and wondering if this help block the air vents or that 3 inch gap?
Answer Hi Ken. Open the door and then take a paper towel and wipe the sides of the inner door panel up to the top beside the door seal. Feel the door seal for nicks and gouges. It is part # WD08X10057. Is there any debris stuck on the gasket or on the inner tub where the seal meets the door ? Remove the lower rack and use a torpedo level inside where the side rack supports are. Make sure the unit from front to back and side to side is level. This is critical point in a leak and door latch situation. All dishwasher tubs are made this way. The door is vented at the bottom. They us this area to draw in fresh air and not pressurize. There is the part that you questioned which will catch any over flow. Part # WD31X312. Make sure you also check the float stem that needs to be on the float switch and operating up and down smoothly. Thank You.
