Will this switch fit my Sub Zero model 632? It looks like the same switch. Thank you, Steve

The LED light panel stopped working. Since LED lights are supposed to last tens of thousands of hours, I removed the LED panel and hooked it up to a DC power source and found that the LED lights did light-up and therefore were not defective. Since the LED panel was confirmed to work, I tested the wires that lead to the LED panel for DC voltage with the doors open and found that there was no current. The door switches (it's a side by side fridge with two bottom freezer drawers) appear to be working normally as they properly sense when each door is open because the open door indicator flashes. Plus, if it were just one side of the double doors that didn't operate the light, it would clearly be a door switch, but it doesn't work when either side is opened. I'm not sure what else to check. Is it possible that it's the main board? Every other function is working properly, including the light in the freezer section. Thank you in advance.

I have a burned out light switch. How do you test circuit to tell what burned out the switch? Also, what steps do I do to get to the wiring and take off the bottom liner?

Latest Questions

I need to replace the light switch in the fresh food compartment... the switch that turns the light on when the door is opened. I searched your site for the part number for my model. Part # wr23x10143 comes up. However, this part shows that it plugs in while the directions say it is attached to wires. Please advise the following: 1. Is this the correct part number for this model built in 1996? 2. Does the switch plug in or is it wired? 3. Do I remove the switch by prying it out with screw driver and putty knife (your instructions say this is correct) or do I have to access it from the top? 4. If pried out, which side is the retainer clip on? Thank you.

Thank you! However, the reason that this answer does not work is because my refrigerator is an older unit and the original switch is a WR23X5155 rather than the current replacement WR23X10143. Please refer to your GE service manuals and/or contact GE on my behalf and find out how to correctly remove the WR23X5155 rather than the WR23x20243. Many thanks!!

I am unable to remove old swtich WR23X10143 per the normal instructions which say to push the clip on the right and turn the switch to the left. There is no apparent clip and the switch will move partially out and then jam. I also saw a You Tube video where a technician did this successfully, but this is not working on my unit. There must be some other trick to this. Please help. Telephone 626-576-8443.
