When I press the start button the door will not lock and water does not enter the basket. 20 seconds after I hit start there is a humming noise coming from behind the unit. I've cleaned out the pump filter and checked the screens on the water intake. Could there be a problem with the lock? If so wouldn't the water still enter the basket? Thanks

When I put clothing into the washer, it agitates and spins slowly during the rinse and spin cycles but does not spin up to high speed. If I run a cycle without clothing it spins up properly. I put the machine into service mode and ran the diagnostics tests with nothing in the tub. Everything seemed to work properly including the pump test and spin tests which went up to the highest speeds. There were no error codes. The door seems to lock properly. I can hear the solenoid click, the panel says the door is locked, and I can’t open the door. Is there a way that I can test the lock with an ohm meter or something to verify that the door lock is not the problem? What voltage should be going up to the main board telling it that the door is locked? Is there an out of balance sensor that would prevent it from spinning up? The tub seems to wiggle around very easily although I don’t know what normal movement is supposed to be. The cabinet rear cover has a drive shaft dent it in where the machine apparently ran while out of balance. The two suspension springs above the tub are intact. The three shock absorbers that I could see seemed to be okay, although I don’t know how to test them. I will look again now that I know it is supposed to have four shocks. If there is not out of balance sensor, this is a moot point. Do you have any ideas how to get it to spin up when it is loaded? Thanks for your help, Mel

hello. my front loading washer will not lock. It is possible that there is a piece now missing from the actual mechanism that may engage from the door to the body of the washer. I looked up a possible part resembling a lock and all I found was the complete lock for $125.... might I be mistaken that something looks as if it may have fallen off? Thanks.

When we turn on the machine & start a cycle. The door locks, drum spins a little one way, then a little the other, no water comes in, then the door promptly unlocks & the timer continues to count down with the door locking and unlocking throughout. When the power button is pressed during this "non-cycle" the door locks, the drain pump turns on and runs a bit (no water to drain), then turns off & the door unlocks. We have checked all the water inlets and the drain pump for any blockages & found none. We have run the built in diagnostic tests which ensured that the the motor was working & the machine could fill and empty water. The error code that keeps re-occurring is E61, which points to the door lock or the main board. I have removed the door lock and it looks fine, good connections and all. How do I determine which is the culprit?

When the washer is started the door latch clicks and it says locked and then it will click and say unlocked until you push in and hold door until it clicks again and it will usually start. Do you think it is the latch and is it hard to change. I am very good at fixing my own appliances so am willing to give it a shot.
