My washer door stays locked. It wont unlock and the door is open. So I cant run a load.
Answer Hello David. if there is no power to the lock assembly, and it won't unlock, you will need to order and replace the lock assembly on the unit.
When we turn on the machine & start a cycle. The door locks, drum spins a little one way, then a little the other, no water comes in, then the door promptly unlocks & the timer continues to count down with the door locking and unlocking throughout. When the power button is pressed during this "non-cycle" the door locks, the drain pump turns on and runs a bit (no water to drain), then turns off & the door unlocks.
We have checked all the water inlets and the drain pump for any blockages & found none. We have run the built in diagnostic tests which ensured that the the motor was working & the machine could fill and empty water. The error code that keeps re-occurring is E61, which points to the door lock or the main board. I have removed the door lock and it looks fine, good connections and all. How do I determine which is the culprit?
Answer Hello Peter,
As per the tech sheet on your model,
• Check integrity of wiring and connections between main control and the DOOR LOCK mechanism.
• Investigate DOOR LOCK mechanism, check door micro switch operation, lock and unlock solenoid continuity, contact integrity; problems replace DOOR LOCK mechanism if necessary.
IF ABOVE STEPS DO NOT CLEAR THE PROBLEM:
• Replace the main control.
When the washer is started the door latch clicks and it says locked and then it will click and say unlocked until you push in and hold door until it clicks again and it will usually start. Do you think it is the latch and is it hard to change. I am very good at fixing my own appliances so am willing to give it a shot.
Answer Hello Jake,
You would want to make sure that the door is not off level causing the latch to not lock around the strike. If the door checks out ok then the latch is what you would want to replace. To replace the parts you would remove boot just from around door opening. You can access the lock once this is done.
