My Repair & Advice
Washer: GE GFWN1000L1WW (front load). Water was coming from under the washer. Visually located the leak by taking out the front panel below the door. The drain hose had a hole in it. Bought a new hose. To take out the metal rim around the big opening, the screw is had to see. From the front opening, look under the drum and use a long Philips screwdriver. To put this wire rim back, it is better to work from behind the washer (take out the cover in the back). It is necessary to open the metal rim as far as possible to be able to put it back on the hose. The part that was most difficult for me was attaching the short part of the hose (the thumb-like part). Again, working from the back of the washer was essential. I had to hold the "thumb" over the plastic tube with one had (it kept slipping out) and work the clamp into position with the other hand. The job was harder than what it appears to be in the DIY videos.
