Answer Jeff, It actually sounds like your installation of the hose is backwards. The end that attaches to the pump should be approx. 5/8 in. I.D. or 7/8 in. O.D. and fit somewhat tightly on the drain pump outlet connection on the housing, before you even before you tighten the hose clamp. Thanks,
