I purchased the pulley kit WH07X10016 for my washer WBVH6240FXX and it didn't fit. Did I order the wrong part number?

My washer just recently has an odor like burned rubber so I took the back panel to look inside. I noticed that the pulley wiggled a little and the belt was slightly off the pulley. I also notice the pulley was leaving a mark on the 'drum' and the center of the pulley is worn out. Do I have to replace the pulley or is there something in between the pulley and the drum that just wore out?

Latest Questions

I have purchased the part number WH07X10016 for the ge washer. The model number shows this is the correct part but I can't get it all the way on. Even hitting it with a rubber hammer it doesn't go all the way on. The paper work and part number is correct, I have triple checked everything. How far should it go on and should it be this difficult to go on? Should I file on the pulley or just force it on?

The tub pulley nut loosens off after about 20 loads. I think this is due to the absence of a metal washer(s) that fits in between the nut and and the pulley itself. This machine was purchased 2nd hand from a local dealer ship (DeSoto Appliances, Arcadia, FL). This has been a recurring problem from the beginning. I think they might have repaired it and lost the original washer. I improvised a washer out of heavy wire and the machine ran perfectly well until the washer wore out. I'd like to replace it with the original factory washer, but I don't see it itemized in the parts diagram. Can you help?

I just ordered this part and tried to install it. The "rectangular" shaft (on the pulley) that fits on the "Spoke" (coming out the back of the drum) do not quite fit. It is very tight to the point that I can not get enough thread of the spoke through the shaft to tighten the bolt. Any suggestions? I did confirm that this is the correct part for my machine.....
