A/C compressor will not come on unless unit is rebooted by shutting down and unplugging it, and restarting it. It cools for a time but then the compressor cycles off and does not restart without rebooting agin. Would this be the right part to fix it?
Answer Hello Jeff. You need to test the thermistors WP27X10028 on the unit and see if it is bad. This sends an ohms reading to the control board to turn the compressor on and off as the temperature in the room changes. At 70°, the thermistor on the indoor coil should read 17930 ohms and the room thermistor should read 11950 ohms. The thermistors on the outdoor coil and outdoor air should read 5300 ohms at 70°. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
