My dryer is squeaking as it rotates. I have a few questions. Is it best to replace the Dryer Drum Bearing and the Glides at the same time? Or do I just need to replace one or the other? Is there anything else I would need to replace? Thank you for your help.

My Hotpoint dryer has started squeaking while drying even small loads. How do I determine which part needs replacing? IE belt, dryer drum support bearing, or other.

Latest Questions

Follow-up to the previous question: Is there a particular strategy to "unsnapping" the bearing assembly? I didn't notice the particular locations that it snapped into. Am I looking to push on a tab to release the assembly or just pulling the assembly out via a pseudo "brute force" method since it is already broken?

I had my dryer open and noticed this part needs replacing, but I didn't see an obvious way of removing it. Any tips? Also, I assume an explanation of how to remove it will provide insight into how to install the new part. If not, can you provide that, too? :-)
