The front right 8" burner quit working on our GE electric range (JBS55DM2WW). The knob turns the orange light on the control panel on, but the element never heats up. I unscrewed the top and lifted it up to see what the issue might be. I saw what I think is the problem. The wire that attaches to the side of the burner in the little port labeled (4) has broken/burned/snapped off (just behind the metal crimped end). I am hoping the burner is still good, and that I only need to solder it back together, or get a new (set) wire. Thoughts? I didn't see any wires available on the site here. Or the little metal slips that the wires get crimped into. That's all I might technically need. Help? Thanks

Left front burner seems to choose its temperature as it wishes! Sometimes I am able to control it, at other times I find it running very hot even when on very low setting. At these times I can have the dial set for very low heat but will see the element getting very red and my food boiling fully! What part may I need?

Latest Questions

I bought a heating element (AP4416172) to replace my current broken left front heating element of my oven. I accidentally put too many force on the metal rod which runs across the pan. The plastic wrapper of the metal rod has some cracks right now. I installed the heating element, and it works fine now. However, I am not sure if this will be an issue for continuing usage? Thanks! baojian

Our range right front burner stays on even when turned off at extremely high heat. Had to unplug the stove to get it to turn off. Is this the heating element or the heating element controller? If the controller, how would this be replaced and what part number for GE JBS55DM2WW model electric range?
