I have the same issue as Kyle for model WBVH6240F0WW, except I have model WCVH6260FWW. The drum hangs low with a pronounced gap at the top. It wobbles if the machine spins. The plastic track has pieces front and back that are worn, frayed, or missing. I am having trouble locating the part from the diagram. This model also has on occasion not stopped water flow into tub. Might a relay be bad that doesn't stop water flow? Thanks for your help!
Answer Hi. Remove the rear cover. Remove the belt. Look at the rear tub and see if the inner basket part # WH45X10079 shaft is worn out against the rear tub bearing. If it is worn like mentioned, then it may have rubbed the pulley into the top of the rear outer tub. Lift up and down on the front of the inner basket for excessive play = 3/8" or more. If so then replace the rear outer tub part # WH45X10071, the inner basket part # WH45X10079 , you will need the middle tub gasket part # WH08X10023 and a main pulley nut part # WH02X10211. Inspect the belt by turning it inside out and looking for cracks or missing track pieces. Belt part # WH08X10024. If the front of the tub has worn because of the front of the tub play- then it is part # WH45X10101. If ther34e is lint or debris in the pressure switch hose then blow into the hose towards the tub and remove the restriction. If there was some then use Afresh part # W10135699 tablets monthly to clean the tub. If not then consider replacing the pressure switch part # WH12X10522. Make sure the entire vent is not restricted or kinked backing up the lint. Make sure the outside vent cap opens and closes properly 4-5x/yr. Thank You.
Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
My washer has been making loud grinding and thumping noises. I noticed to day that the drum was kind of hanging about an inch to low and wobbles pretty bad. I looked in the gap and the plastic track that the drum glides on is ripped apart and worn down. Is this the part I'm looking for?
Answer Hi Kyle. You need to remove the power and the top. Then remove the back panel. Look at the rear pulley at the top of the tub. has the pulley worn a groove into the top of the tub ? The rear spin bearing that is encased with a seal is shot. The complete rear half of the tub needs replaced. It is part # WH45X10071. At the back of the inner spin basket is a spinner support. This part looks like a " delta" configure that bolts onto the back of the inner basket that also has the through shaft that extends to the rear large belt pulley. On your model, it is all included with the basket assy. part # WH45X10079. If the pulley needs replaced it is part # WH07X10016. The pulley nut definitely needs replaced since it is a self locking nut assy. part # WH02X10211. You will need a tub seal that is between the front and the back halves. Thank You.
