Can a 25 Watt bulb be used instead of a 20W bulb?
Answer Hello Brian,
The manufacturer will normally use a low wattage bulb in a socket that is located in a place that heat from the bulb will cause discoloration to an adjacent part. Many times it is because of a plastic light lens. Other cases it is because of energy consumption and they are putting in a lower wattage to get the energy star rating. Sometimes it is because of wire size, (gauge). Since it is impossible to know the reason the engineers used this wattage bulb, we cannot say it is safe to use a higher wattage bulb.

Answer Mike, bulb part number WB36X10213 has been replaced by part number WB25X10019. Thanks!
