How do you remove and replace the light in the bottom of the microwave.
There are 2 different styles of light bulbs, one is screw in and the other is push in. You will remove the screw from the light lens and let it drop down. Then you would either unscrew the bulb out or pull the bulb out.
Can a 25 Watt bulb be used instead of a 20W bulb?
Answer Hello Brian,
The manufacturer will normally use a low wattage bulb in a socket that is located in a place that heat from the bulb will cause discoloration to an adjacent part. Many times it is because of a plastic light lens. Other cases it is because of energy consumption and they are putting in a lower wattage to get the energy star rating. Sometimes it is because of wire size, (gauge). Since it is impossible to know the reason the engineers used this wattage bulb, we cannot say it is safe to use a higher wattage bulb.
