The oven door does not close all the way, which hinge should be replaced? GE Monogram Model# zet1058pf3ss
Any instruction to remove the oven door? Thanks.
Answer Hello Larry,
The left one is WB10X10078 and the right one is WB10X10078. If one is replaced, it is recommended to replace both. This way you have equal pressure against the door gasket from each side. Also, as heat tends to affect the temper of the steel, an older spring is not only more likely to break, but it also is less likely to be as strong, as far as pressure to the door gasket goes.
The hinges WB10X10028 inside the door are just as susceptible to heat damage, but are more likely to need replacing if the door has been stressed like a child climbing up on it or an adult falling on it. This isn't saying that they do not need to be repaired as I can't see it from here. The individual performing the repair has to inspect them for damage and determine whether they need replaced or not.
As far as door removal, flip the little pivoting latches and start the door in the closing direction. You then have to fully support the door as you manipulate it out. Re-installation is just the opposite.
