Trying to replace the ice door assembly. The whole assembly is wrapped by the stainless steal door panel. There no trim to remove to pop the touch panel off. How do you take out the touch screen panel to access the housing screws? Thanks!

Trying to replace housing shield. Removed trim and control panel. see four screws removed them. loose but the right side seems to have something holding it. I can see a burn spot near the light bulb. do you think it may have welded it self to the side of the opening or is there's something other than the four screws holding it in. Please help

I am having a problem accessing the ice/water solenoid in my Ge fridge model - GSH25JSXN. I removed the control panel, disconnected the electrical connectors and took out the four screws on the dispenser housing shield (part number: WR17X12152) but the shield wont come off. Everywhere I look online, I read that this shield should come out easily once the 4 screws have been removed. Something is holding the shield tightly in place (back by the light bulb socket). Is there a chance that the shield has fused to the piece behind it somehow? No matter how I shift it it won't come out. Three corners of the shield move but the bottom right won't budge (as if I hadn't removed that screw - which I did). This is extremely frustrating. I would just take a screwdriver and pry it off, breaking the bond, but I am afraid that I will break something that isn't easilly/cheaply replaceable as the shield is. Any suggestions? I am literally stuck here. Steve

Latest Questions

I was wondering if the following item comes in black. Evidently in my attempts to thaw the water line with a hair dryer I have warped the housing dispenser shield so now the ice funnel does not make a good connection with the micro switch. Thanks, Jenny

What Am I missing? Removed the four screws on the dispenser housing shield, but the it wont come off. It feels as if there is another screw holding the bottom right of the shield in place (back by the light bulb socket) any suggestions?

Do the water lines that go through the housing shield dispenser come with the housing shield. The old one appears to be one part. I think I need a water filter housing assembly! Thanks, BB
