How do you remove the auger from the ice maker tray?
Mike J for Model Number gss22jepa cc
Answer Mike,
To remove the auger assembly you will need to take the 2 screws from the bottom of the ice bin that hold the front cover on. remove the cover and you would remove the screws that hold the crusher cover on. You will have to remove the crusher assembly to move to the new auger. Pay close attention to which way the blades are on the auger.
Our water dispenser continues to freeze because our ice-maker doesn't shut off. The arm seems to move but it never triggers to stop making ice so it whines and whines to let me know that the thing is crammed with ice.
Can I purchase the motor part to replace it or should I call a repair person (I'm pretty handy).

Answer Shannon,
For the issue of the icemaker making too much ice you would want to use part number WR49X10103. This is a redesigned icemaker arm and will improve the icemaker shutting off. Also if the dispenser is freezing you may need to get part number WR49X10173 dispenser water tube heater. This is designed for when the water line in the door keeps freezing.
The plastic auger is broken inside of my ice maker. Everytime I put in the model no. HSS25GFPAWW they always show me an auger with a different model no.....WR17X11705 is this number compatable with my fridge?
Aj for Model Number HSS25GFPA WW
Answer AJ, according to your model number the ice dispenser bucket auger WR17X11705 is the correct manufacturer replacement and will work on your model. If you would prefer the bucket assembly w/ the auger it is part number WR17X11419. Thanks!
