"Dryer runs, no heat"- My dryer has a viewer hole located at the front underside to check the function of the ingnitor and flame with a mirror. I see an orange glow which lasts 5 seconds every 30 seconds. I do not hear a flame igniting. Hope this helps to diagnose.
Ohm the ignitor cold between 75-800 ohms. Is it physically begun to open in the middle? If so the part # is WE4X739. If the coils are weak then they will open and shut down, cool off and close allowing heating again.Check the coils 279834 and see if they test good. You can test the coils using a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. The two prong coil will read 1,000-1,300 ohms, and the three prong coil will read 1,300-1,400 ohms across prongs 1&2, and 500-600 ohms across prongs 1&3.
Heat shuts off about half way through cycle. Clothes still damp.
Answer Hello Mark. Check and se if the igniter is weak or if the gas valve is bad in the unit. If the igniter is glowing red hot, but no gas is released, replace the gas valve in the unit.
