How do you safely remove the inner door panel to replace the keypad? Is there any electrical installation instructions available?
Answer Hello Ed,
Turn the breaker off to the unit and verify power is not present before beginning. Open the door and remove the screws from the inner perimeter of the door. This will release the inner door panel from the outer door panel. Remove the lowest screws last and support the door outer panel with something that will not scratch it since the outer door panel will drop when these last two screws are removed. You will now have to carefully lift and separate the two panels. Now remove the ribbon cable from the control and peel off the old keypad from the control panel. Use rubbing alcohol to remove and excess sticky left from the old keypad. Be cautious when installing the new keypad since the super sticky will grab when it touches even if it is in the wrong position. Stick the new keypad on and don't forget to plug it back in where the old one was unplugged. Re-install the outer door panel in the reverse order.
