Over the years I have noticed that occasionally there would be condensation under the key pad for the 'time remaining' button located to the far left of the key pad display. Last week we had a power outage. The next time I tried to turn on the dishwasher the 'on' light came on but I could not get the 'up' and 'down' arrows on the cycle selection area to respond. I decided to try the cycle that was already on the display (the 'time remaining button was lit up at 102 minutes remaining) and the dishwasher did it's thing. And, yes, there was condensation under the 'time remaining' button. The next time I tried to run the dishwasher I still had no control over the cycle selection buttons. I decided to just turn it on and see what developed. Again, only one choice of time. This time it added two minutes to the cycle and the dishwasher ran for 104 minutes. Now the cycle is up to 106 minutes and I am wondering what the darn thing has against odd numbers! My question: can half a control panel strip go 'rogue'? I know I have to replace parts here but which ones? I am truly afraid to try the 'reset' trick. eg 'press pot and pans and heated dry at the same time'. I have turned off the breaker and then turned it back on. The only thing that happened is my devil dishwasher added ANOTHER two minutes to my wash cycle. I swear I am not making this up. Any ideas???

My electricity went out during a storm but came back on within 2 min. When they came on my dishwasher was making a loud, continuous beep. The key pad wouldn't display anything and the only way to stop the beep was to flip the breaker. I opened up the door and if I unpluged the top wire in the "circle" of the computer module it would stop. Do you think this is the part that needs replacing?
