The control knob on my washer will turn to settings, but will not stay in when pushed. It allows the machine to come on and run, but will not push and stay in if you need to stop machine during cycle. Is this just a control knob problem?

ok, got the knob off and put on your new knob and that didn't correct the problem, although the teeth on the old knob were gone. Does this mean the timer now?

Hi, I recently replaced the timer, which works fine. However I have no idea on how to get the the timer knob in place which spins when it ought to be fixed by the clip. I'm pretty sure the problem is where to place the clip properly. Can you help me? thank you.
